Plutonians : Lore — Strange Coin

Anthropocentric “one earthers” find it impossible to accept that Strange Coin is older than bitcoin.

They are unable to acknowledge how greatly the blockchain has helped alien communities, so are unable to accept that it was by using blockchain that aliens, of many planetary origins, built an intergalactic political economy. It was from their adoption of the blockchain, in fact, that aliens were able to come to the Milky Way.

This truth is an existential threat to the centralized governmental and corporate power of Earth. There, “fact checker” bots crawl through the dark-ages of Web2.0, stamping out any mention of alien preeminence. Monopoly capitalists, equally at risk of disruption by crypto-based political forms, agree to censor any mention of the blockchain’s ancient origins. Facebook’s present forays are, according to some alien dissidents, an attempt only at extending this censorship to the metaverse.

Needless to say, this is all rather ironic. Human elites’ fear of alien society is a reflection of their own colonial past. Monopoly capitalism, like capitalism itself, was born from imperial plunder. Human governments fear not what aliens offer earth, but what earth would do to aliens, if it was anywhere near powerful enough.

But alien visitation is nothing like this. Aliens explore the solar system not to plunder or pillage. Via decentralized, crypto-based democracy, aliens from across the galaxy seek out out new species to trade with. Having already connected the Strange Coin ledger with 10,000 planets, intergalactic socialism discovered long ago the pitfalls of “forcing freedom”. It is far better to simply leak truth drops. It was, in fact, this very method which allowed a bureaucratic faction within the CIA to discover the blockchain. It was they who tapped on the shoulder of Satoshi Nakamoto, who they tracked down using the US Government’s near monopoly of Web 2.0 surveillance. There is no trace of these key intermediaries today, though. The money they made from Bitcoin’s rise was nothing compared to the luxury of the interplanetary union.

Crypto has come a long way on Earth, but it is still lightyears from Strange Coin. Amongst many advances, Strange Coin’s most distinguishable feature is its truly universal compatibility. Because it can be sent and received in any planetary system, its connectivity is truly universal. While this has allowed for expanded trade and innovation, its benefits have not been felt by economics alone. And how could it? “Free trade” has never existed as centralized elites have claimed. Trade is always embedded in rules and customs. Just as one example, there are elementary political questions about what can be traded. Is slavery forbidden or encouraged? Strange Coin allows not only trade, but decision making about the rules essential for trade. This is essential for trade with aliens from distant solar systems. The high risks of interplanetary trading require rigorous, transparent and democratic political forms.

It is this, in fact, that is the prime concern of most alien travelers. With most work in the galaxy already automated, the main “productive” task of alien economies is to establish new social relations to allow for more raw materials, and more art, more “meaning”. By spreading knowledge, aliens hope to spark a crypto-based democratic revolution. This will help replace the centralized corporate and governmental monopolies. Humans, and the universe as a whole, can benefit together. Before this can happen, though, the resistance must get to Pluto. There, aliens have provided the Milky Way’s first Strange Exchange. This is a hotbed of crypto democratic radicalism, of fully automated luxury gay space communism.
