Plutonians : Your questions answered
Humans went to the moon. Humans are going to Mars within our lifetimes. Nobody in their right mind wants to go to Pluto.
Even when we did go to Pluto we didn’t stick around. It was a fly by mission.
There is a launch window for a slingshot by Neptune (sic) coming up in 2024 for a planned orbital mission to Pluto, but it’s not confirmed. An orbital mission would give us much more time to explore Pluto and it’s moons. I really hope we come together to make that happen, but I’m also not going to let that get in the way of our mission.
A journey, an odyssey, can take many forms. It can be as epic as the journey we have undertaken to go to Pluto. It can be as simple as walking to the local shops. But every journey has a beginning, middle, and an end. And every journey will see a tremendous amount of change. Change is the reason we journey. The journey itself brings about great change. You aren’t the person you were yesterday. You aren’t the same person you were 5 minutes ago.
Say the concepts are for solar system planets, will most of them be barren or have establishments already?
There will be various levels of establishment. Some will be cities, some will just be a fuel depot and a cantina, others still will be a hidden pirate outpost…
Here’s some questions answered about what to expect in the Plutonians Metaverse!
1. Do we have a rough age period? E.g. is it year 2402 or some completely detached timeline? Personally I’m thinking if we are sticking to our solar system which is realistic then it makes sense to stick to current timeline system?
Present day, present time, BUT we are aware that there are more advanced civilizations already living in the galaxy… Kind of like Men in Black if you get my meaning?
2. How advanced in the technology level in the game? Are there space colonisation like the one in Interstellar? is the technology feel more industrial, machine heavy like Terran in Starcraft, or bit more magical/energy based? Are there any aliens and alien technology in the solar system? And what about out of the solar system?
Human technology is pretty basic, but the alien interstellar technology is very advanced. There is pirate tech too which is a mix of both as they use whatever they can get.
3. What kind of tone would the solar system worlds be? Peaceful or war heavy? Delighted or harsh? Barren or full of activities? Untouched or deserted already?
The idea is to implement a didactic element to the game narrative for the younger players as they are the ones who will be affected the most by blockchain in their lifetimes… So the basic premise is that the IU (Interplanetary Union), loosely based on the EU, are asserting their dominance in the 8 planets, intentionally excluding Pluto, but Pluto is where the party is as it is the gateway to interstellar trade and travel and is outside the jurisdiction of the IU.
So in the early levels you will be playing by the rules and running standard IU cargo/fintech missions using “republic credits” but eventually you make it to Pluto where the game really opens up with dark markets, illegal ships and alien technology…
That’s a lot of info 🙂 basically the IU is the EU and they want to put forward an image of control and order, but the reality is there is this anarchic decentralized interstellar system just below the surface that is kinda unstoppable.
4. Do we have a main art style direction at all? or
Art style is “techno space wizard” x “cyber punk”
