The Plutonians VR Chat World Goes Live
Plutonians is beyond excited to launch our first official VR Chat world! Take in the sights from the Interplanetary Union space station, fly some of our zero-G gliders around, explore some orbital biomes or just hang out and make friends in space! At the time of writing this post we’ve already had more than 1700 unique virtual visitors, which is amazing considering we haven’t even announced anything yet!

At Plutonians we are all big fans of VR Chat; it’s hands down one of our favourite VR apps and a brilliant snapshot of the future of the metaverse. Plus it leans into a core philosophy that the Plutonians team shares: the power of user-generated content. After all, what is a metaverse without community curation? So with that said, of course the upper brass of the Interplanetary Union ordered a presence be constructed in VR Chat! How else will they sign up new recruits to fight off the pirate menace in the Outer Rim?
While we are holding off on letting you cruise around in IU ships for now (you’ll have to wait for the Unreal Engine 5 release in September for that!), in the meantime make sure you try out the variety of IU void-gliders located around the station. Oh, and be sure to check out some of the vehicle specifications on display at the orbital billboard platform. After all, you’ll be behind the cockpit of one of those babies pretty soon!
You might have noticed that our roadmap never featured a VR Chat world, but hey, Plutonians LABS wasn’t on it either! We can’t help it — we’re the type of gamers who always do all the side quests…
Right now there’s tons to do aboard the IU Space Station — but we will continue updating it frequently and adding more amazing areas and tools to explore and use. We have big future plans for the station, too. But we’ll keep that under wraps for now — sorry!
And remember, virtual avatars don’t need spacesuits.
